
TABMA (QLD) has been operating an accredited group training division since 2001, providing quality group training services to the timber industry.
We are the only Group Training Organisation (GTO) in Queensland that specialises in recruitment and training for our industry – ensuring we are the ‘specialist’ GTO for your trainees and apprentices.
TABMA (QLD) employs trainees and apprentices and places them with suitable ‘host employers’ who can provide a suitable workplace, supervision and support the provisions of on the job training. We provide ongoing career advice and support for our trainees and apprentices - even after they have completed their Certificate. Our philosophy is to ensure our valuable employees continue with career development and progression.
Apprenticeships and Traineeships
Apprenticeships and Traineeships combine paid work with training and are an invaluable method of ensuring our employees are trained and skilled for our industry needs. Training is a vital component to any business to be assured of getting the best out of your staff.
Apprentices and Trainees are rewarded with the opportunity to gain a Nationally Recognised Qualification or Trade which can set them on a successful long term career path.
A few facts about apprenticeships and traineeships:
- Apprenticeships/ Traineeships combine paid work with training
- Traineeships vary in length from 12 months to 3 years
- Full-time Apprenticeships take up to 2 years to complete
- Apprenticeships/ Traineeships can be full time, part time or school based
- Existing employees can undertake a traineeship or apprenticeship
- The Apprentice/ Trainee must enter into a Training Contract (legal Document) with TABMA (QLD)
- TABMA (QLD) will work with the Host Employer and Registered Training Organisation to develop a training plan suited to your business needs
- Training takes place in the workplace and with the training provider- usually delivered on site
