Occupational Health and Safety

The TABMA Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Advisory Service has been developed in response to demand from members. This cost effective service will assist those in the supply, manufacture, frame and truss, joinery and sale of timber with a better understanding of the OH&S Act 1984 and associated legislation to provide a safe and healthy workplace. Other industry sectors can be accomodated.

Comprehensive Information Kit

Participating members will receive an Occupational Health & Safety Manual containing information on a variety of OH&S issues relevant to the members workplace. Included in the manual are:

  • Employers' legal responsibility under the Western Australia OH&S Act 1984 and associated legislation
  • Additional information which will help companies meet their OH&S requirements
  • Codes of practice relevant to the individual enterprise
  • Hotline

 

Regular Updates

Members will be provided with regular updates and information on Occupational Health & Safety issues and on any changes to the legislation.

 

Hazard Audit

An officer of TABMA will visit the members' workplace, identify any potential hazards and/or unsafe systems of work and provide a written report and ongoing support.

 

OH&S Information Hotline

For those with an immediate Occupational Health & Safety concern a telephone service is provided. We will endeavour to provide an immediate answer to queries over the phone. More complex issues will be thoroughly investigated and a prompt reply provided.
